Description

Many captivating Tuscan towns can be easily reached for day visits from Al Bastini with particular Tuscan highlights being San Gimignano, Volterra and Monteriggioni (90 minutes). Into neighbouring Umbria, you can reach Assisi, Perugia and Arezzo within 2 ½ hours. Travelling up the coast past Forte dei Marmi, you can visit the fabulously picturesque villages of Cinque Terre in 90 minutes.  The wonderful medieval university city of Bologna, arguably the food capital of Italy, is only 90 minutes away.  For longer stays, via Livorno (45 minutes), you can take ferries to the islands of Elba and Sardinia.
