Description
The village of San Macario in Piano is a 5 minute drive from Al Bastini. Here you will find a good bakery, two excellent butchers/delicatessens, one with a very good, traditional Tuscan restaurant (Antica Macelleria Cortopassi – need to make a reservation as it’s very popular with the local folk). There is also a superb gelateria (L’Angolo Ghiotto – rarely closed!) and a good pizzeria.
There are three, good/large supermarkets only 10 to 15 minutes drive from Al Bastini – the quality of fruit, vegetables, meat, fish and bread is very good.
